Glad to hear you did well in both steps. You should have enrolled in my Step 2 CS course.:). Anyway, USCE is important for some programs but not for others. You need to research well which programs require USCE and which do not. Thousands of IMG each year match and prematch without USCE. Good luck.

askdoc,i just want to have your advice for IM neuro,patho residency.  hw competitive?do img get residency based on there scores without any USCE?</description>

If you are fresh grad, with scores in 90&#039;s you should not need to have clinical research job to get interviews. Clinical research jobs, externships are good to have and can help if you have some glaring weakness in your resume. Old IMG, poor scores, etc. but people without clinical research background and without externships have gotten residency positions. So they are not a must.
